Faithful Love
by Judy Hitson
Psalm 138:8 NLT The LORD will work out his plan for my life – for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
At this writing, I am living as a widow of four months. Our key verse above blesses me with the assurance that the Lord will work out His plan for my life in this new phase of life on earth with Him.
Remember God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11 NLT “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
It is precious to consider that His faithful love endures forever as I think about what God’s word says in Romans 13:8 NKJV Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. Is that not amazing?! It boggles my mind each time I realize love is the fulfillment of the law.
God’s character is love, 1 John 4:8.
My children and grandchildren have been a wonderful support to me since my husband/ their father and grandfather went Home with Jesus. I find solace in this prayer in our key verse,
Lord don’t abandon me, for You made me.
When I am alone at home, it feels lonely without my husband. Being married 60 years, his absence left a void in my life.
The Lord reminds me that my husband is with Him and that He is with me. I am not alone for the Lord is with me. Thank You, Jesus.
The faithful love of God is of utmost importance.
The desire of my heart is to mature in the love of Christ. Yet, I see I have a long way to grow in His sacrificial, everlasting, unconditional love.
He extends His faithful love to us but are we faithful in our love for Him?
This brings to mind, 2 Tim. 2:13 NKJV If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
As I grieve the loss of my earthly husband, I stand on God’s word in Col. 1:27……………Christ in you, the hope of glory.
This helps me practice His presence with me. The Lord assures me that He is with me always.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for Your faithful love and that You will never leave me or forsake me.
