Did Anyone See His Love In Me Today?

Did Anyone See His Love In Me Today?

by

Kathleen Shore

“Live every moment as though it were your last….

Love, as though it was your last moment to give His love away….”

These words to live by from my Dad, passed through my mind as the mundane task of running to Kroger brought a slumped over posture inside of me.

It had been a wonderful morning at church, followed by lunch, and a nap would have really completed the day so nicely. But when you run out of toilet paper, there is no option of going tomorrow.

As the automatic doors opened I silently whispered to Father… “I’m looking for you, I’m listening….” and made my way to a beautiful pile of ripe tomatoes that was not on my list.

Keeping my eye on the perfect ones I wanted, I waited as a woman on the other side of the pile struggled with the plastic bag dispenser. I quickly realized that her difficultly in finding the perforated line gave Father some time to prepare His way in me.

He immediately struck me with His beauty displayed in her…. her straight, jet black hair that still graced her face amidst the exhaustion of her day that began by readying herself and her three daughters (all under the age of 6) in their Sunday best.

Now flooded by His heartbeat, I reached out and pulled the bag. In handing it to her, I recognized the deep pain and loneliness by her response that was so hungry to have a conversation.

So glad to see an uplifted spirit and a smile on her face, we then parted ways. But as I gathered my attention to the avocados, Father corrected me…”You didn’t tell her specifically what I impressed you with…”

Not realizing at the time, that it was more important than just having a great connection, I collected what I needed while praying that Father would allow me to pass by her one more time.

Sure enough, as I rounded the corner at the milk, she stood expressionless in front of the meat department. Maybe pondering which cut was best, maybe struggling to have a clear thought between the random questions from her sweet girls, or maybe, she was so vacant inside she was searching to just have any thought at all….

Coming from behind, I broke in on her vacancy with my hand on her back. “Ma’am, I want to tell you the first thing that came to me when I saw you.”

With just my beginning words, “I was so struck by how beautiful God made you…” tears began to run down her face as she drank in all that Father gave me to share.

Confirming to me that it was important to speak exactly what God wanted, she responded, “I needed to hear those specific words…. I am in the middle of a divorce….”

Oh Father, thank you for the grace to even follow you – The Good Shepherd, thank you for wrecking my heart with your love poured out, thank you that we ran out of toilet paper….

Not that I am doing it well, but I am so convicted by the truth that our lives in Christ are to be lived out through the all-powerful, chain dropping, captive freeing LOVE of God that was poured out for us, and that it is to be the sole purpose of our existence.

For this reason, I must ask the questions that I pose to myself everyday:

Who do I want to be today, no matter what anyone else is doing around me?

Do people around me, SEE the love of Jesus?

Has my “doing” for Him, replaced my “abiding” in His love of me?

Is God’s love of me the power source of all that I do?

Father God, I just want to set my sights on you today…. and let the power of your love, the same love that was poured out through your Son on the cross and the power that raised Him from the dead that now lives in me…. let it invade me and become all that I am, all that I seek, all that comes out of me…. and in that alone, I will fulfill ALL that you have set me forth to do.

Intimate Time with You

Intimate Time with You
by Brenda D. Flowers

“He’s alive! He’s alive!

He’s alive and I’m forgiven.

Heaven’s gates are open wide.”

These words from the song written by Don Francisco are resounding in my memory and in my quiet time.  I reflect on Jesus’ ministry:  His ways of speaking, touching, healing and even reprimanding. . . . always with the heart of His Father’s love paramount! No selfishness was in Him. He spoke and healing happened. He spoke and people were set free. His words were life and hope to those who trusted Him and had faith to come to Him.

A key is the coming to Him. That is why intimate time with Jesus is still so important. He still speaks to the world and one way is through you and me. How do we know what to say without spending time with Him? We don’t and we won’t unless we have our own intimate time with Him.

Just as Jesus went away to spend time in prayer, seeking His Father’s will, we must now spend time in prayer looking to Jesus, our priest and king, to seek God’s will. Jesus will provide direction and will give us words of life to share. Holy Spirit will provide the power we need as we trust and obey.

Thank you, Lord, for these wonderful words: “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 32:4 NIV)  I pray that my desires are Your desires and bear fruit. Bring joy to our lives even in the challenging times. You healed Peter’s mother in law. You care about families. Please do a mighty work healing, delivering and our families.

Intimacy with Christ through Prayer

Intimacy with Christ through Prayer
by Judy Hitson

I Thessalonians 5: 17 KJV Pray without ceasing.

Stop.
Quiet.
Be still.

Like you would snuggle in a comfortable bed under warm blankets on a cold, winter night, snuggle in the loving arms of Jesus Christ with the comfort of His Spirit who gives you life. Take a few deep Holy Spirit breaths, like the song, written by Michael W. Smith, “This Is The Air I Breathe.”

Shake off anything that would hinder the flow like shooing flies away. Yes, shake off any worry, fear, doubt, anxiety, unforgiveness or fill in the blank and receive God’s peace. This is a prayer of my heart from Psalm 139:23-24: Search me, O LORD, and know my heart. Try me and know my anxious thoughts. Show me if there is any hurtful, offensive or wicked way in me and lead me in the everlasting way. If you pray this prayer to the LORD and anything comes to mind, confess it and stand on God’s promise, I John 1:9 NKJV If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Don’t allow any enemy to hinder your soul. Let the Holy Spirit flow life giving words to you and enjoy peace in the presence of the Lord.

Praying is like breathing, Andrew Murray, a favorite author of mine, writes. As you draw near to the Lord, He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) With clean hands and a pure heart, ascend the hill of the LORD. (Ps.24:3-4) Be blessed in communion with Him lifting your soul, your mind, will and emotions, to the living God standing on the truth of His word.

This is not a ritual of legalism but deepening your love relationship with Jesus Christ, in communion with Him in prayer.

As I read I Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing, I was struck by the Spirit revealing a process as I read through the Scripture passage of verses before and after: to rejoice always, to be thankful in everything for it is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus and do not quench the Spirit.
(I Thess. 5:16-19) We could read more and plunge the depths but will stop for now at this place and shift to another Scripture on prayer.

As I began the year on intimacy with Christ, I was led to begin with prayer in Matt. 6:6 ESV But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

This was my first memory verse for 2014. The more I thought about it and chewed on it like a favorite meal, it took me deeper in the love of Christ. My heart was touched and my spirit soared, thinking about our children and grandchildren as God’s rewards in our lives. All the intimate moments, hours and days in the secret place with the LORD in prayer have been worth it to enjoy the good days and bear the most difficult days.

As we practice drawing near to God, coming close to Him (James 4:8), we taste and see the LORD is good (Ps. 34:8), and develop a deeper love relationship with Him. For me, the Lord says to start the year writing on intimacy with Him through prayer.

Where are you in your relationship with Jesus Christ? Do you know His great love for you that you love Him because He first loved you? (I John 4:19)

Is your prayer life like breathing?

Whatever the case, I encourage you to draw near to the Lord, enjoy His love for you, His presence with you and experience intimacy with Him starting with prayer.*

Post note: *From Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary, International Edition, 1963, I wanted to share with you a meaningful definition I found on prayer: ……….4 Communion with God and recognition of His presence, as in praise, thanksgiving, intercession, etc…………….

To Know Him & To Make Him Known

To Know Him & To Make Him Known

by

Kathleen Shore

Today marked 28 years that I have crawled into Father God’s lap, to rest my head upon His promise…. “I will be a Father to the fatherless.”

As I moved about my morning, I felt oxygen breathed into my chest as God re-captivated me with a remembrance that was a commission, an impartation….

It was about 3 weeks before Dad went home to heaven that a video was taken of him with the intention of giving him the chance to share with his four children, all the things he would not be there to say throughout their lives.

The tape was set to record and with great patience and intensive care, questions were asked to help prompt his sharing. But the words just wouldn’t come…. The difficulty of “where to begin” showed on his face as minutes passed by. Respectfully, another question would be asked, and then another…. trying to help him put his thoughts into words.

But he had always spoken most profoundly with his life, he had been the greatest of teachers by walking it out in front of us…. and now to try and give words to the diverse needs of his four children, was painfully crippling and seemed more than inadequate.

The now twenty minutes gone by, had exhausted even those who were interviewing Dad and in one last attempt to leave a legacy for us, his brother in law said, “Don, is there just one thing that you would want your children to remember you saying…. Is there one thing you would say, this is what I want for them?”

Dad’s lip and chin began to quiver as tears ran down his face…. He now knew what he wanted to say!

“The one thing….” he said with clarity and strength, “The one thing I would want for my children, is that…. they would know The Word.”

Not to have memorized the address of where a certain scripture could be found, but to know Him, The Word, The Bread of Life – the source of life.

Not ensnared by the enticement to figure Him out, but their eyes so fixed upon Jesus, as to know Him…. and be satisfied with being empowered by His mystery unfolded in secret places…. sometimes dark, cold, painful places.

What Dad desired for us, came from standing at the entrance to heaven’s gates. Yet he knew that he could not give that to us…. he could only deliver to us the source. And so, he laid me in Abba’s lap as he stepped through the veil.

To know you as my Father God out of this, is like nothing I could have ever sought after and found. But you knew the way to deliver your love to me, you knew the way to catch my eye, your perfect love has held me and healed me through all my earthly loss and made it my kingdom gain.

My mountain top experience was set right down in my valley of the shadow…. A field of lilies for you to browse among, in pleasure, grew up right in the valley of dry bones.

This is the mystery of hidden treasures, riches stored up in secret places…. all that I would know that You are the Lord, who calls me by name. (Isaiah 45:3)

Time to Mine the Gems

Time to Mine the Gems

by Brenda D. Flowers

There was a time in history when men and women rushed west looking for gold, for treasures. Their eyes were focused on the dream of striking it rich. How? They believed from the prospecting of the earth. They were willing to risk their lives to travel over rough terrain. They climbed mountains, crossed rivers, trudged through valleys and suffered many losses, all to try to reach a destination revealed to them by people’s words. A hope was in their heart that kept them going. Few ever found what they were looking for.

We just completed 2013, a year now in history. What are the treasures people are looking for as we enter this New Year, 2014? Some search for better electronics saying, “I’ve got to have the latest cell phone, television or computer.” Others search for a better way of transportation, wanting a car or truck that will run on electricity or has the latest technology. Some people search for the best team to support, spending hours of time and great amounts of money to see a team win a Bowl Game or World Series. Many look forward to watching winter Olympic athletes win gold medals, while comfortably sitting on comfortable sofas in a warm recreation room with the latest conveniences.

What are you searching or hoping for as you enter this New Year? Is your anticipation, your wealth, your time and focus on material treasures?

It is time to reevaluate our priorities. It is time to mine gems much more precious than anything this world or the things of this world have to offer. God is speaking to us and saying,

Return to me, My Bride. I love you. I want you to be ready. Join together in unity.

We all, including me, need to be aware of the way we use our time. What is our purpose for being here right now, this time in history? We are designed to be fitly joined together.

There is unimaginable joy awaiting those who forsake the ways of the world to follow Jesus. Sure there will be times to use technology, to see a bowl game, to cheer for an athlete but what is our main focus. Are our eyes, our love poured out on these things, these events? Are we teaching our family members that material blessings are the treasures of life? Or are we mining for more precious gems?

Jesus wants to come back for a bride adorned…adorned. How are we to become adorned in 2014? The first question to ask is, “Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior?” He loves you and wants you to experience the joy of knowing you are saved from sin and set free.

As Christians, we may go through some valleys, cross rivers and climb mountains on our journey to find out how to be adorned. But as we unite, we will be rewarded. Church, we need to be a body of believers who sets an example of what treasures are truly important. Begin with the treasure map, the Word of God.

                       Isaiah 61: 10 (NKJV)

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

                       My soul shall be joyful in my God;

For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,

As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

                        Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

                       And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him.

And He shall direct your paths.

                        Proverbs 3:13 (NKJV)

Happy is the man who finds wisdom,

                        And the man who gains understanding;

For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver

And her gain than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies,

All the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

                        Proverbs 3:16-18 (NKJV)

Length of days is in her right hand,

In her left hand riches and honor,

Her ways are ways of pleasantness,

And all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,

And happy are all who retain her.

As we embark on an adventure to seek God’s treasure of wisdom in 2014, our eyes must be centered on God Almighty, Three in One, Our Father Creator, Our Holy Priest and King Jesus and Holy Spirit. Intimate time with Him is where the jewels are mined. Let us reevaluate our use of time and possessions and ask God to reveal His truths. When we sincerely seek Him, we will find the riches of understanding.

A key truth to be discovered is, You are loved!

                        Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
For he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

Time for God’s Way

December 2013

Time for God’s Way
by Judy Hitson

As I was reading Matthew Chapter Three this Advent season, it seemed the Lord was calling me to write to you to prepare the way of the Lord. It was a struggle trying to understand what the Lord was saying to me because I wrote to you previously, Time to Prepare and Take Time to Prepare.

You know how it is said when the Lord is saying something to us, He repeats Himself? That is the way it has been for me reading and hearing Matthew 3. It is the chapter I’ve been meditating on to hear the word of the Lord for us to end this year on the topic of “Time.” As we Christians prepare for Christmas and celebrate the birth of our Lord with the first advent, we also prepare for the second advent. The second advent of Christ seems like the culmination of time and the reason we should anticipate His return and be ready for Him, going His way.

Take a look with me through this familiar passage of Scripture and prayerfully consider these contrasts. Open your Bible to Matthew Chapter 3. I will write to you what I sense the Holy Spirit revealed for us to think about. From the New American Standard Bible, I write:

In verse one the first three words about popped off the page, “In those days.” It is difficult to articulate what I heard and saw. Trusting the Lord to capture what He revealed to me in hopes of communicating His way for us in these days.

Matt. 3:1 In those days – Biblical History – John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness
In your day – your history – the question comes to mind, “Are you a voice of one                                                                     crying out in the desert?

Spiritually, are we not living in a dry and arid land, void of the Spirit except for the people of God listening and obeying God’s voice?

John the Baptist preached Matt. 3:2 “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” :3 For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “THE VOICE OF ONE  CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, ‘MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT!’ “ Isa.40:3

As in those days, so too in our days, there is a need of repentance for the kingdom of God is at hand. We cannot be the silent majority. We must cry out, ‘Make ready the way of the LORD…’

What does that look like?

As you read on through Matthew 3:4-12 in regards to John the Baptist consider your life in contrast to his to make ready the way of the LORD. John wore a garment of camel’s hair, a leather belt about his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. People came to him from Jerusalem and Judea. They were baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins. It seems John discerned the hearts of the people for when the religious people of the day came for baptism, (verses 7-9) Pharisees and Sadducees, John said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? “Therefore bring forth fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

It is a serious matter to consider the fruit of our lives in keeping with God’s ways in daily living.

John spoke of baptizing with water for repentance but One coming who will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire; he said, “He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (verses 10-12)

John’s basic needs were met with the clothes he wore and food he ate. The thought occurred, “In our day, are we meeting our basic needs for shelter, clothing and strength or are we indulging on lusts of the flesh?”

Everyone was going to hear John and the question came to mind, Do you have others come to hear what you have to say about the Lord?

The people that came to John were baptized with water and confessed their sins. I heard, Are you confessing faults to one another and praying for one another that you may be healed? (James 5:16)

When we consider the way John talked with the Pharisees and Sadducees, I heard, “How do you talk with those who call themselves Christians but you discern are bound with religious spirits like the Pharisees and Sadducees in John’s day?

I saw John was telling the religious people not to presume they have Abraham as their father. Do we hear those who presume their salvation because they go to church, were baptized, but without the life of the Spirit have religion without a relationship with God?

Yes, it is time for God’s way. Let us pray:

Lord Jesus reveal Your ways for our lives and help us live in light of it by Your Spirit. Amen.

His Time of Delivery

His Time of Delivery

by

Kathleen Shore

The way my physical body felt, it seemed as though accomplishing my last errand of the day was like setting out on a voyage into a dense wooded hillside on foot, with both girls on my back, for about 100 miles…. just to reach our neighborhood Kroger.

But believing we are “His love roaming,” I prayed my condition would not dull my senses and that I would not miss Father’s appointments of delivery because of my need to finish the task.

We kept our steps light hearted as we found joy in greeting each one we passed, and just as we turned down our last aisle, there came little Anna.

In her late sixties and no taller than my ten year old daughter, Anna is a treasure that very few ever notice or give thought to as valuable.

As my girls ran ahead to give her a hug, I notice she was wearing rubber cleaning gloves that reached her shoulders, “And why was she pushing an industrial size garbage bin, that she couldn’t even see over?” I thought to myself….

Without reserve I joined Isabel and Acacia in clogging up the aisle to hug Anna and ask how she was doing. In response, her little hand came up to cover her face and she began to cry.

She was so worn from all the harassment in her day…. a day that resembled the day before, and the day before…. people in a hurry with their groceries, no grace, no kind word….  with a lot of the opposite, and physically exhausted from being moved around by managers to jobs that no one else wanted to do.

With our hearts plowed by Father God, I laid my hand on little Anna and began to pray as people somehow found their way around us in pursuit of their goods.

So beautifully, God’s love became the fulfillment of everything.

My need was met by reaching out to hers….

My receiving was wrapped up in the giving….

My pain lifted in being broken for hers….

A Winter Wonder

A Winter Wonder

by Brenda Flowers

A snowflake on my windshield spoke to me today; an eye-opening splendor which You, Lord, allowed me to see. Its pattern, its intricacies glistening brightly caught my attention. I marveled at its beauty and thought, “Yes, this is a fine example of God’s artistic creativity.”

I wonder, Lord, at the words, “Not one snowflake is the same.”

I have heard those words several times over the course of my lifetime and my finite mind has questioned the validity but my heart has accepted the words by faith as truth.

I wonder, God, how many snowflakes have you created? That’s a mind-boggling thought! Even now, as I sit in my car and contemplate the complexities of your creation, I realize how, just like the snowflake, each human being is unique and intricately designed. Our creation is so much more valuable than the creation of the snowflakes, yet, I wonder do we humans ever truly fathom the depths, the intricacies of our creation?

David wondered about the mightiness of creation too and praised God with these words, in Psalms 139: 13-18 NKJV

            For You formed my

               inward parts;

            You covered me in my

   mother’s womb.

I will praise You, for I

   am fearfully and

   wonderfully made,

            Marvelous are Your

   works,

            And that my soul knows

   very well.

            My frame was not

   hidden from You,

            When I was made in

   secret,

            And skillfully wrought in

   the lowest parts of the

   earth

            Your eyes saw my

   substance, being yet

   unformed.

            And in Your book they

   all were written,

            The days fashioned for

   me,

            When as yet there were

   none of them.

            How precious also are

   Your thoughts of me,

   O God!

How great is the sum of

   them!

            If I should count them,

   they would be more in

   number than the sand,

When I awake, I am still

   with you.”

What if we humans could accept these words, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, just like we accept the words, “Every snowflake is special and unique”? What a difference that would make in our world! The sanctity of life would be valued. Abortion would not even be considered because all humans would realize that each baby, even just the fertilized embryo full of life, was created for a special purpose by God Himself.

I wonder is it possible for humans to value the beauty, the creation of human beings more than we do the snowflakes on our windshield or the sand at the beach. I am challenged by God to ask this hard question, “Do you value human life?”

Time To Love

 Time To Love

by

Kathleen Shore

All of creation is groaning, longing for us to live captivated by God’s love that was given like a love transaction, with the purchase price being His only Son – Jesus – His life, given for each one of ours.

The unbeliever is even unknowingly waiting for us to live out this earthly life, with all its trials and perplexities, firmly planted and rooted in this love transaction. Unwavering, because we are plugged into the power source by simply choosing to live moment by moment engaged to God’s love pursuit of us.

The word says, “They (the unbeliever) will know Him by our love.” This love is not something we have within ourselves. Yet, the greatest power source is completely ours as we simply dwell in the secret place with Him…. Abide in the vine, so that He – who is love, would abide in us.

However, the body of Christ, called to be His bride, is being tossed about, in and out of their love with Him…. She has given her love to another, her eye stolen and distracted, wearied from being pushed and pulled by earthly circumstances while waiting for His return.

“But this circumstance I am in,” we say, or “That person,” we point with our finger.  “If only this would change, I could love the way I’m suppose to….”

This, my friend, is a prayer and the call to each….

Today, let us live as though it were our last moment to live, and love, as though it were our very last moment to give God’s love away. Let us spend every last cent of ourselves on the treasure we have found, which is God’s love of us – Jesus, the embodiment of His lavish love. HE is the Treasure, that when found, we went and sold everything we had and bought it.

So hold nothing back from responding to His love that radically pursued us, and paid the highest price.

Let us push off everything that would hinder us in responding to His love of us, everything that would block the flow of His powerful love, into us and through us.

–      Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrong…. It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. Love never fails…. it never ends.

–      Let us love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

–      Let us love our neighbor as we would love ourselves.

–      Let us stir one another up in our love with Him.

–      Let us put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

–      We can have wisdom, discernment, prophecy, healing in our hands, cast out demons…. But without love, we have nothing.

To respond this way in all of life is to say,

“I love my Lord”….”I am a follower of Christ.”

Time In The Word

Time in the Word
by Judy Hitson

Amos 8:11 NASB
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD God,
“When I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water,
But rather for hearing the word of the LORD.

Sound the alarm! Twenty four hours a day, that’s it! Imagine a day when the LORD God sends a famine for hearing His word. How does it affect you? Does it call you to a greater commitment to hide God’s word in your heart and share it with others? We are blessed with a free will to make choices. May the Lord grip our hearts with the reality of such a famine that we choose to spend more time with Him in His word.

How much time do you commit to Bible reading in your day?

The Bible is the word of God. It is essential to take time in the word as an activity of daily living. Each morning we prepare ourselves for the day ahead of us.

What are some things you must do to be ready for your day?

Is having a daily quiet time with God one of those for Bible reading and prayer or perhaps a short devotional reading? Whether you take a few moments or a few hours hearing the word of the LORD, I urge you to spend time in the word to see and hear by His Spirit what He has to say to you. We are blessed at this time of history to have access to Bibles, Christian materials, and technical means of media to read or hear the word of God.

With a time coming for a famine of hearing the word of the LORD, I share a few Scriptures that tug at my heart. They may be familiar to you. I hope they will be meaningful as you think about time in the word with the LORD, your God.
John 4:34 NASB
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.

John 6:53-58 Read these verses and consider Jesus words to eat His body and drink His blood as eating the words of Scripture like food for your soul.

Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm but one that is filled with insight on God’s word. For example,
Psalm 119:11 NASB Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.
Psalm 119:103 NIV My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.
Psalm 119:105 NASB Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Ps. 81:10 NIV I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

Time in the word of God is a necessity for me in daily living. Is it for you? You can relate time in the word to time eating daily meals and snacks. Time in Bible study, daily Bible reading and learning to pray the word are like the meat and potatoes. Devotionals are like tasty spiritual snacks that take a few minutes to read but the nourishment for the soul can be timeless treasures. Time for Scripture memory can be vital for the Spirit of God to bring recall in times of need.

Prayer: Lord, bless us with daily time in your word in our hours and moments to receive Your living word by Your Spirit, who gives us life. This I ask in Your name, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
