Waves

Waves

Father, I love You! I don’t know what to say or do, II Chron. 20:12b NASB nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on Thee. I just want You to know I love You. I know You are here.  I look to You.

I’m seeing a dark turbulent ocean with waves rolling and then crashing into the sand. The turbulence cannot stop itself. It takes certain conditions for the ocean to be smooth and silent like glass. The ocean reflects the sun and sky when everything is right.

How then, with our hearts? We take offense and the internal churning begins. Like a meat grinder, our hearts are ground and every square inch is wounded and raw. Waves of memories overtake our emotions until we are out of control and darkness prevails.  A form of insanity ensues with visions of what we could do or say that would make this pain stop or at least be bearable. That rip tide of thoughts and emotions has pulled you way under and out of safety’s reach. Unless you quickly stop this thrashing and look to the beach or the plumbline of your faith (the Word of God), and call out to the lifeguard (Jesus Christ) you will be pulled down into deep darkness. When you find yourself in this nightmare of a place, stop the insanity and call out to Jesus. Tell Him you are sorry you got so far out there. He will come get you. Jesus will give you peace and you can once again reflect on the SON.

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:39 (KJV).

  1. Yes! Once we call on Him and the waves are stilled, we can again be a reflection for Him! Thanks C 🙂
