Inheritance of Enlightenment  
We Need a Great Awakening

Psalm 18:28,30 (NKJV) For You will light my lamp;  The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness….As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven: He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 

In our world today, many voices clamor wanting to be heard, voices proclaiming “truth”. Debates rage with hurtful words. 

Many people are searching for knowledge and enlightenment. Their sources are often books, the internet, radio, television, or social media platforms. What is our source of truth?

If we were to research statements or expressions related to the topic of Enlightenment today, we would discover countless quotes written by individuals of various religious and cultural backgrounds or world views who believe they have true knowledge and enlightenment. Many of these statements are grounded in philosophies and people’s theories.

We must be aware that these “truths” are being taught to our children and young adults in our schools and colleges, while truths from a biblical worldview are being blocked. Our popular media has played a great part in imparting anti-biblical beliefs that have influenced our culture. 

How are we as Christians to respond in love?  

As followers of Jesus Christ, it is important for us to realize our position in Christ and awaken to our responsibilities. God gave us His Word.

For Christians in America, this is a crucial time for us to join together in prayer and to stand up for what we know to be truth. To have discernment, it is wise to study the platforms behind the candidates, to seek the Lord for His guidance and then to vote.

Our enlightenment comes from God. 

As we meditate on God’s Word, may we gain more insight regarding the great inheritance we have as followers of Christ. May we also be emboldened to testify regarding the truth of God’s word rather than the opinions of men.

Prayer:  Lord, help us in our country to return to You. Enlighten our eyes as Christians to wake up to the realization of who we are in Christ. Empower us in America to boldly proclaim the truths and original intent of our Founding Fathers. Help us to trust You, Lord, with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. Awaken us to what is true and continue to teach us to pray. In Your mighty name, Jesus, we pray. Amen
