Trust In Your Love

Trust In Your Love
by Kathleen Shore

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…”

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a NIV

Like the dawn on the horizon, like the waves upon the shore… Your love keeps coming. Over and over you faithfully pursue me.

With each display, it’s as though your love is brand new. Patient through my dark hours when I don’t feel you, you are even confident in the ebb of empty after your wave that flows over the shore of my heart, keeping me tethered to you…desperate for the more.

You have taught me Father, to know you in the valley, to wait for you in the unknown, and to behold you without seeing you because you have proven yourself true.

While you beautifully pursue me, your love blazes a trail that paves a way for me to come and find you. How kind you are to give me a lifetime of opportunities to respond and give back to you what you love of me…my affection, my attention, my adoration.

How could it be that in my need of your perfect love, I open myself up to being filled with the very love that others need, and I become a conduit of this perfect love to them? I am caught by the recognition of this power source as I observe myself loving with capabilities that are not my own.

And so, my heart rests itself down in your truth proven at the cross. The extravagant delivery of your love of me declares…”I Am Trustworthy!” I find that I am beholding you because I KNOW you. I do not behold you in all things because I always see you…  I simply trust in your unfailing love.

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. (Ps 27:8)
