Jesus, You are My Rest

Rest, as I breathe in and out
Life, no more strife.
Breathe in …to 10.
Breathe out…from 10.
Follow and flow in Him.

Jesus, You are my rest!

After working, rest.
In obedience, rest.
Stepping forward, rest.
During life’s tests, rest.

God rested and rests.
His love pattern’s best.

Trusting in Him, rest.
Abiding in Him, rest.
Knowing Him, rest.
Living in Him, rest.

God rested and rests.
His love pattern is best.

Rest, as I breathe, in and out

Follow and flow in Him.

Jesus, You are my rest!

Filled with love, rest.
Joy abounding, rest.
An easy yoke, rest.
Free from fear, rest.

God rested and rests.
His love pattern is best.

Jesus, You are my rest!

Read: Genesis 2:2 and 7, Matthew 11:27-30, & all of Hebrews (esp. Hebrews 4: 11 & 16 as quoted in prayer.)

In faith, trust, and humble obedience, I find rest.

Prayer of thanksgiving as we learn to rest in Jesus:

Lord, may we, “…be diligent to enter that rest…. Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Thank you for the gift of Your Spirit who keeps us.

Jesus, You are our great High Priest who sympathizes with our weaknesses and who has completed the work, taking away our sin and conquering death.

Thank you and praise You, Heavenly Father, for Your beautiful redemption plan. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. You provided the way to bring us true rest. Praise you, God.

In Jesus’s mighty name we pray. Amen
