Inheritance of God’s Grace

Inheritance of God’s Grace
by Brenda D. Flowers

“If you (really ) love Me, you will keep and obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever —the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive (and take to its heart) because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans (comfortless, bereaved, and helpless); I will come (back) to you.” (Jesus’s words as recorded in John 14: 15-18, Amplified version)

I am writing this post on Pentecost Sunday, meditating on how gracious God is. It is truly amazing how much Sovereign God loves us!

Do we fathom the depths of God’s Grace gift to us?

Jesus came to earth full of grace on a loving mission. He was obedient to His Father’s directions.

Jesus’s purpose for becoming a man was intentional.

Gracious God created a plan so that all mankind could be reconciled to Him. God has always desired an intimate relationship with us. He wants to commune with us daily and He wants to bless us with fruitful lives.

When Jesus came to earth, He gave credit for all He did to His Father. His words reflected the gracious character of God. Do we see how Jesus told His disciples that when He left them they would not be left alone?

As Christians, we can trust that God’s gracious character was deposited in us. He poured out His Spirit on us so we may complete the mission He has for each of us.

So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober (in spirit—steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert), fix your hope completely on the grace (of God) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1: 13, Amplified)

Through God’s love gift, we are given a guarantee of a grace filled everlasting life. Yet, like Jesus, God also wants us to be grace givers.

Church, God gave us His Word of Grace for great purpose. We are to proclaim His truths.

Prayer:  Lord, I know you are loving and full of grace. That is who you are. I see the beautiful inheritance you have given me. May I truly live my life in a way that shows who You are in me. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen
